About Us
Paza Sauti
From 2022, STV partnering with Materra - Stiffung Germany undertook to amplify the voices of urban refugee women in a project dubbed Paza Sauti - Kiswahili for Raise Your Voices- with the intention of highlighting the plight of urban women refugees, support them in psychosocial healing, confidence building and foster peaceful co-existence with the local communities.
Paza Sauti has worked with over 30 urban refugee women to build capacity in creative story telling and basic media skills so they become protagonists for their communities and bring attention to the challenges, struggles and aspirations of the urban refugee communities.
This they do by producing radio podcasts and video stories that broadcast and highlight issues normally marginalized and ignored by mainstream media. By amplifying their voices, we raise awareness, mobilize support, and advocate for change of perception of refugees by the host communities..
We also connect and influence other stakeholders in the refugee sector who can offer services like counselling, education , employment, entrepreneurship skills, housing and even care packs for our beneficiaries..
Best regards,
.
